4 node 24 CPU Beowulf Linux Computational Cluster

This computer cluster was assembled to expedite molecular dynamics simulations and DFT calculations. It was built from individual components for under $4000. Each of the four computers has a six core AMD Phenom II 3.0 GHz processor and 20 GB of DDR3 ram with communications over gigabit NICs and switch. It runs Ubuntu Sever Edition 12.04 64bit.  It took about one week to build and configure and greatly enhances the throughput for experimental calculations.
